MARIETTA, Ga., September 24, 2024 - We are thrilled to announce that Essayon Construction has successfully closed a major contract with Windsor Stevens to bring to life one of the most impactful projects in Atlanta—The Proctor. Spearheaded by Rod Mullice, managing partner of Windsor Stevens, The Proctor will be a transformative mixed-use development located in the historic English Avenue neighborhood. This project aims to revitalize the area while providing affordable housing and local business opportunities.
The Proctor is a $55.6 million development that will include 137 residential units, 10,000 square feet of retail space, and essential infrastructure that supports the surrounding community. This development is not just about new buildings. It's about fostering long-term, sustainable growth for residents and local entrepreneurs. Mullice has emphasized the importance of the project, saying, "We want to create a ripple effect that benefits not just the future tenants but the entire neighborhood" (Bisnow). With The Proctor, Windsor Stevens and Essayon Construction work closely with community stakeholders and local government entities to ensure the project aligns with the city's equitable development goals.
The project is set to break ground in the fall of 2024, with an expected completion date within two years. As Essayon takes on the construction responsibilities, we are committed to keeping the project on schedule and within budget, leveraging our expertise in general contracting and multifamily developments. Our ability to self-perform wood framing—one of the key components of the project—gives us a distinct advantage in controlling both the timeline and the overall costs.
